What this role is

This role owns Anthropic's policies governing how Claude can be used in conventional weapons contexts, building threat models and detection systems to distinguish between legitimate engineering research and weapons development. It suits someone with deep weapons systems expertise and policy experience who can translate technical judgment into enforceable guardrails and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
