What they ask for
Required
- 5+ years of software development and/or Linux systems administration in production environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Kong API Gateway or similar enterprise API gateway in production
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, or Kuma)
- Strong understanding of traffic management concepts (routing, retries, timeouts, circuit breaking, traffic shifting)
- Familiarity with mTLS, service-to-service communication, and zero-trust networking
- Development experience in Python, Bash, Go, Java, C++, or Rust
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response
Nice to have
- Experience with distributed data storage at scale (Ceph, Rook)
- NoSQL at scale (MongoDB, sharded Redis, Cassandra)
- Data aggregation technologies (Elasticsearch, Kafka)
- Experience scaling and running traditional RDBMS with high availability
- Observability and incident management tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Release engineering and package management at scale
- Software performance analysis and load testing (QA or SDET experience)
