Required

5+ years of software development and/or Linux systems administration in production environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Kong API Gateway or similar enterprise API gateway in production
Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, or Kuma)
Strong understanding of traffic management concepts (routing, retries, timeouts, circuit breaking, traffic shifting)
Familiarity with mTLS, service-to-service communication, and zero-trust networking
Development experience in Python, Bash, Go, Java, C++, or Rust
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response

Nice to have

Experience with distributed data storage at scale (Ceph, Rook)
NoSQL at scale (MongoDB, sharded Redis, Cassandra)
Data aggregation technologies (Elasticsearch, Kafka)
Experience scaling and running traditional RDBMS with high availability
Observability and incident management tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
Release engineering and package management at scale
Software performance analysis and load testing (QA or SDET experience)
