What they ask for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- 2+ years hands-on hardware design, building, and testing experience
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (NX preferred)
- GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Structural analysis with hand calculations and FEA
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, additive manufacturing)
- Mechanical engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics)
- Ability to take ownership and work independently
Nice to have
- NX and ANSYS experience
- Aerospace, automotive, or high-performance hardware background
- Launch vehicles, propulsion systems, or cryogenic systems experience
- Design for extreme environments (thermal cycling, vibration, shock, vacuum)
- Test campaign experience including test planning and data analysis
- Avionics integration, harness routing, or electronics packaging experience
- Experience in fast-paced startups or rapid development environments
- Track record shipping hardware from concept to production
