What they ask for
Required
- 5+ years professional senior mobile engineering experience delivering native applications on both Android and iOS
- Production experience with Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, XML views, Coroutines, Flow, Koin, Dagger/Hilt, Retrofit, Room, WorkManager, and foreground services on Android
- Production experience with Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, RxSwift, RxCocoa, Combine, and Core Data on iOS
- Platform networking and VPN APIs including VpnService, NetworkExtension, Packet Tunnel Provider, always-on VPN, kill switch, and split tunneling
- Experience integrating native libraries (.aar/.framework/XCFramework) into mobile apps
- GitHub version control and pull-request based workflows
- SOLID principles, Clean Coding, Testing practices, and automation with Espresso/UI Automator and XCTest/XCUITest
- Publishing and maintaining apps on Google Play and Apple App Store with release management and VPN app compliance handling
- Working knowledge of VPN protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN, Shadowsocks, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS
- Experience with subscription and in-app purchase flows including StoreKit 2, Google Play Billing, and analytics SDK integration
- Day-to-day use of AI agents like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot with strong judgment on verifying output
- Candid and empathetic communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills for independent delivery
- Experience building large-scale consumer apps with technical leadership skills

Nice to have
- Help transition existing mobile codebases from acquired team and close knowledge gaps
- Experience shipping or maintaining consumer VPN, proxy, or privacy products, especially censorship-circumvention or traffic obfuscation tools
- Experience with TunnelKit, OpenVPNAdapter, wireguard-apple, wireguard-android, gomobile libraries, or userspace network stacks
- Reading or writing Go
- Web frontend experience with React and TypeScript
- Kotlin Multiplatform or shared logic approaches across apps
- CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Bitrise, or Xcode Cloud
- Firebase Crashlytics, Remote Config, and feature flags
- Localization at scale and building for low-end devices and unreliable networks
