Required

  • 5+ years of professional front-end development experience
  • Strong portfolio of production-quality interactive data visualizations
  • Ability to translate design concepts into responsive, accessible, high-performing front-end experiences
  • Editorial and storytelling instincts for communicating complex data visually
  • Collaboration and communication skills with designers, analysts, and leadership
  • Foundation in design principles including grid systems, typography, and layout
  • Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with D3, Canvas, or similar data visualization libraries
  • Proficiency in R or Python or similar analytical programming language
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Svelte
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Ability to leverage AI tools while managing AI risks responsibly

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, Data Visualization, Journalism, Information Design, or related field
  • Experience with geospatial tools such as QGIS
  • Exposure to WebGL or creative coding frameworks like P5.js or Three.js
  • Experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender
  • Motion graphics or video editing capabilities
  • Advanced training or certifications in data visualization, front-end development, UX design, analytics, or emerging technologies
