This role develops and delivers thermal control systems for commercial space stations, managing the complete lifecycle from design through on-orbit operation. What they ask for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 13+ years' experience with thermal systems or equivalent role
- Hands-on experience building, testing, assembling, or integrating hardware
- Design and analysis experience with heat exchangers, radiators, cold plates, or fluid components
- Understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
- Understanding of space environments and their effects on design
- Experience defining and implementing engineering standards and processes
- Proficiency with mechanical design tools (NX, Creo, or Solidworks)
- Proficiency with test analysis tools (Python or equivalent)
- Track record of delivering in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Eligible for U.S. export-control screening (ITAR/EAR compliance)
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones
Nice to have
- Familiarity with flight hardware development and certification
- Knowledge of NASA or commercial space program standards
- Experience with CFD, FEA, or thermal modeling tools (ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, Thermal Desktop, SINDA/Fluint)
- Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems, including sensors, harness routing, connectors, and control hardware
