Required
- 5+ years people management in payroll tax operations or related service environment
- 5+ years hands-on payroll tax experience with focus on notice resolution and amended returns across multiple states
- Experience resolving complex IRS and state agency notices including penalty assessments
- Experience preparing and approving amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states
- Deep knowledge of federal payroll tax law and penalty/interest structures
- Multi-state payroll tax expertise including reciprocal agreements and local tax compliance
- Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with enterprise payroll platform and case management systems like Salesforce
Nice to have
- Prior experience at payroll service bureau, PEO, or multi-client tax operations center
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Active Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
