Staff-level machine learning engineer to own the architecture and reliability of Taskrabbit's core ranking system, which matches task requesters with Taskers. What they ask for
Required
- 8+ years building and deploying production machine learning systems with end-to-end ownership
- Deep expertise in ranking systems, recommender systems, or two-sided marketplace ML
- Experience with debiasing and A/B experimentation at scale
- Architectural thinking across data pipelines, feature stores, training infrastructure, and serving
- High-standard code writing and code review
- Ability to perform critical R&D on novel problems
- Strong Python and SQL proficiency
Nice to have
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or related quantitative field
- Familiarity with dbt
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Augment, or similar)
