Required
- Deep hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-powered systems including RAG, tool use, and agent orchestration
- Demonstrated ability to set technical direction for AI systems and establish architectural patterns across teams
- Experience owning outcomes across team boundaries and influencing broader organizational AI approach
- Strong command of model evaluation, including designing evaluation suites and detecting hallucinations
- Understanding of modern model architectures including transformers and diffusion models
- Production experience with model deployment, monitoring, and optimization for latency, cost, and reliability
- Strong full-stack fundamentals and comfort across backend and frontend systems
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical decisions to engineers, product managers, and executives
- Demonstrated product judgment to evaluate what should be built
Nice to have
- Experience fine-tuning foundation models with a clear point of view on when it outperforms prompting
- Familiarity with AI safety, guardrail frameworks, and responsible deployment practices
- Experience building agentic or multi-step reasoning systems
- Background in SaaS or product analytics where user data informs AI product design
- Prior experience contributing to or launching a net-new team or product area
