What they ask for
Required
- 5+ years professional DevOps, SRE, or network engineering experience
- AWS hands-on experience (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Route 53, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Experience with at least one additional cloud provider (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner, Linode)
- Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code
- Docker and container/fleet management across multiple providers
- Linux system administration and networking (iptables, nftables, routing, NAT, DNS, TLS)
- Observability and alerting tools (Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana, log aggregation)
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Scripting in Python, Go, or Bash
- Production VPN, proxy, or networking infrastructure operating experience
- WireGuard, Shadowsocks, OpenVPN, or IKEv2/IPsec at scale experience
- DNS and domain management expertise
- CDN and edge computing knowledge (Cloudflare)
- Secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or SSM)
- Security fundamentals including encryption and least-privilege IAM
- Daily use of agentic AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
- 24/7 on-call availability and incident response capability
- Strong communication and independent delivery skills
- Production-scale system operation experience
Nice to have
- Censorship-circumvention and traffic obfuscation technologies (Shadowsocks plugins, V2Ray, obfs4)
- Userspace network stacks (lwIP, gVisor netstack) or Go-based networking tooling
- Experience integrating acquired infrastructure from other companies
- Kubernetes or Nomad orchestration experience
- Packer for image building
- Self-managed databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis) and disaster recovery design
- Cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
- SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA compliance program experience
- Familiarity with mobile app release pipelines (Fastlane, Bitrise, Xcode Cloud)
