What this role is

AST SpaceMobile seeks an experienced environmental test technician to independently conduct thermal, vibration, acoustic, and other qualification testing on satellite systems and aerospace hardware at their Midland production facility. This role suits someone with aerospace or industrial testing experience who can troubleshoot complex test setups, mentor junior staff, and work with minimal supervision.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in aerospace, manufacturing, automotive, industrial maintenance, environmental testing, or related technical field
  • Experience with wiring, harnessing, cable fabrication, and electrical assembly
  • Experience using hand tools, torque wrenches, and precision measurement tools
  • Experience performing soldering and connector assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace Technology, or related field
  • Experience performing vibration, thermal, thermal vacuum, shock, acoustic, or environmental qualification testing
  • Experience with accelerometers, thermistors, thermocouples, strain gauges, and related sensors
  • Experience with calibration programs and test equipment verification
  • Experience supporting spacecraft, satellite, solar panel, aviation, defense, or industrial qualification testing
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience with environmental chambers, vibration shakers, thermal vacuum systems, and acoustic test facilities
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems and test documentation requirements
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and failure investigations
