What they ask for

Required

  • 12+ years software development experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Hands-on coding in at least two of: IBM Assembler, COBOL, PL/I, C, C++, Java, .NET
  • Experience with mainframe (z/OS) and distributed environments (Windows, Unix, Linux)
  • Demonstrated implementation of cybersecurity principles including cryptography, secure coding, and access controls
  • Experience with industry-standard mainframe security products (RACF, ACF2, Top Secret, TLS)
  • Strong object-oriented programming and interlanguage communications knowledge
  • Understanding of microservices, APIs, databases, and Client-Server communication

Nice to have

  • Deep-dive debugging expertise and system dump analysis
  • Penetration testing experience
  • Thorough understanding of z/OS subsystems (Language Environment, CICS, IMS, WebSphere Liberty, DB2)
  • Enterprise middleware and network protocol experience (ECI, TCP/IP, IBM MQ)
  • Python, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Jakarta expertise
  • Cloud Native Architectures and container experience
  • Prior experience developing or maintaining Gen
