- Strong proficiency in Java and Python
- Track record decomposing large service estates into independent sub-systems
- Experience designing for horizontal scalability across regions and independent deployments
- Cloud-native background with Kubernetes, containers and AWS
- Experience externalizing configuration and removing environment coupling from application code
- Demonstrated ability to land significant changes in code owned by other teams
- Ability to spot architectural limits before they become incidents
- Ability to design, lead, influence and deliver on ambitious technical roadmaps
