What this role is
A hands-on machining role at a satellite manufacturer where you'll program and operate CNC equipment to produce precision aerospace components, then verify and document them to support Astranis's in-orbit fleet. This suits experienced machinists comfortable with multi-axis mills and lathes who want to work on hardware that matters.

What they ask for
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years aerospace, medical, gearing, or precision machining experience
- Program 3 and 5 axis mills with simultaneous toolpaths
- Program 2 and 3 axis lathes with part transfer operations
- CAM software knowledge (Solidworks, Fusion 360, or MasterCAM)
- Fanuc or Siemens CNC controller experience
- Material knowledge (aluminum and steel alloys)
- Inspection tool proficiency and dimensional verification
- Read and interpret technical documentation
- Work safely and follow MES procedures
- Onsite 5 days per week
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status
Nice to have
- Haas, Matsuura, DMG Mori, or Makino machine experience
- CMM programming (Zeiss preferred)
- Welding experience (TIG, UHV TIG, ultrasonic, EBW, or other bonding)
- Honeycomb panel machining experience
- Exotic materials experience (7050, LiAL, titanium, 3D prints, ASTM materials)
- Composite fabrication knowledge
- Component cleaning, bagging, and documentation knowledge
