Xiangqi

Xiangqi, or Chinese chess, is a two-player strategy board game played on a board with a river dividing the two sides, using pieces such as the general, advisor, elephant, chariot, horse, cannon, and soldier. The object is to checkmate the opposing general, and the game is enormously popular throughout China and among Chinese diaspora communities as a test of tactical and strategic skill.
