Paper Making
Paper making is the craft of producing paper by hand from plant fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wood pulp, which are beaten into a slurry, suspended in water, and then lifted out on a mesh screen (a mould and deckle) to form a sheet as the water drains away. After pressing and drying, the resulting handmade paper often has a distinctive texture and deckled edge prized by artists and stationers. Hobbyists enjoy it for its tactile, low-tech process and the ability to incorporate recycled materials, plant fibers, or embedded decorations into unique sheets.
