Hanetsuki
Hanetsuki is a traditional Japanese game similar to badminton but played without a net, in which players use a rectangular wooden paddle called a hagoita to hit a shuttlecock back and forth. It is customarily played by girls around the New Year, and failing to return the shuttlecock traditionally results in a dab of ink or face paint as a playful penalty.
