Carom

A carom is a shot or scoring event in billiards-type games in which the cue ball strikes and glances off multiple object balls without pocketing them. The term gives its name to a whole family of pocketless billiards games, generically called carom billiards, played on tables without pockets using two or three balls. Skilled players use spin, angle, and precise cue control to set up successive caroms for points.
