Virtual Machines (VM)

Cloud Computing and DevOps

A virtual machine (VM) is a software-based emulation of a physical computer, running its own operating system and applications independently of the underlying hardware, enabled by hypervisor software such as VMware, VirtualBox, or Hyper-V. VMs let developers, IT admins, and cloud providers run multiple isolated systems on one physical machine, useful for testing, server consolidation, and running legacy or cross-platform software. They form the backbone of modern cloud computing infrastructure offered by services like AWS and Azure.
