Swedish is a North Germanic language spoken by about 10 million people primarily in Sweden and as a minority official language in Finland. It is closely related to Norwegian and Danish, with mutual intelligibility among the three, and uses a subject-verb-object structure with distinctive pitch accent. People study it for living or working in Sweden, engaging with Scandinavian culture and media, or connecting with family heritage.
