Statistical Process Controls
Manufacturing and Industrial
Statistical Process Controls refer to the statistical tools and techniques, most notably control charts and process capability analysis, used to monitor and manage the consistency and quality of a manufacturing or business process over time. Quality engineers and manufacturing teams use these controls to detect when a process is drifting out of its normal operating range so corrective action can be taken before defects occur. This approach is foundational to quality methodologies like Six Sigma.
