Sign Language
Languages
Sign language is a visual mode of communication using hand shapes, movements, facial expressions, and body language instead of spoken words, with distinct languages like American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) having their own grammar and vocabulary. It is the primary language for many Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals and is also learned by interpreters, educators, and family members to communicate with them. Sign languages are full natural languages, not simply gestural versions of spoken languages.
