Schema Therapy
Healthcare and Medical
Schema therapy is an integrative form of psychotherapy developed by Jeffrey Young that combines elements of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and attachment theory approaches. It is used by clinical psychologists and therapists to treat chronic psychological issues, particularly personality disorders, by identifying and changing deeply ingrained maladaptive patterns called "schemas" formed in childhood. Treatment often involves techniques like imagery rescripting and mode work to address unmet emotional needs.
