SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP PI), later rebranded SAP Process Orchestration, is SAP's middleware platform for integrating SAP and non-SAP systems through message-based communication, mapping, and routing. Integration consultants use it to build interfaces between disparate applications using protocols like IDoc, RFC, SOAP, and file-based transfers.
