Music Sampling
Music and Audio Production
Music sampling is the technique of taking a portion of an existing sound recording and reusing it as an element in a new composition, a foundational practice in hip-hop, electronic, and dance music production. Producers use samplers or DAWs to chop, loop, and manipulate samples, and clearing sample rights with original copyright holders is often a required legal step.
