Moxibustion
Healthcare and Medical
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique in which dried mugwort (moxa) is burned near or on the skin at specific acupuncture points to warm and stimulate the flow of qi and blood. Practitioners use it alongside acupuncture to treat conditions like pain, digestive issues, and cold-related ailments, and it can be applied directly, indirectly (via a needle), or with a moxa stick held above the skin. Patients seek it out for its warming, circulation-promoting effects as a complement to other bodywork or acupuncture treatments.
