Microsoft ADFS
IT Infrastructure and Networking
Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) is a server role that provides single sign-on and identity federation, allowing users to authenticate once and access multiple applications across organizational boundaries using claims-based identity. It is used by enterprise IT and security teams to enable secure access to web applications and to federate identity with partner organizations or cloud services like Microsoft 365. It has increasingly been supplemented or replaced by cloud-based Microsoft Entra ID for hybrid and cloud-first identity scenarios.
