JavaFX is a software platform and GUI toolkit for building rich desktop and embedded applications in Java, offering modern UI controls, CSS-based styling, and support for multimedia, graphics, and animation. It was intended as the successor to Swing and is used by developers creating visually polished cross-platform desktop applications. Originally bundled with the JDK, it's now maintained as a separate open-source project (OpenJFX).
