Foley Artistry

Music and Audio Production

Foley artistry is the craft of creating and recording everyday sound effects—footsteps, clothing rustle, door creaks, punches—in sync with a film or video's action to make it feel realistic. Foley artists work in specialized studios using props and surfaces to reproduce sounds live, a technique named after sound pioneer Jack Foley and essential to film and television post-production.
