Drums

Music and Audio Production

Drums are a percussion instrument, most commonly played as a drum kit combining snare, bass drum, toms, and cymbals, used to provide rhythm and timekeeping in musical genres from rock and jazz to pop and metal. Drummers use sticks, mallets, or hands to strike the drumheads and cymbals, coordinating limbs independently to create grooves and fills. Many people take up drums as a hobby for its physical, rhythmic, and creative outlet, often playing in bands or practicing along to recorded music.
