Development Environment
Software Development and Engineering Practices
A development environment is the configured set of tools, software, and settings a programmer uses to write, test, and debug code, typically including an editor or IDE, compilers/interpreters, version control, and local servers or emulators. Software developers set these up (locally or in the cloud) to closely mirror production conditions while allowing rapid iteration and debugging.
