Chinese Writing

Languages

Chinese writing is a logographic system in which characters represent words or morphemes rather than sounds, developed over thousands of years and used in both Simplified and Traditional forms. Learners and calligraphers study stroke order, radicals, and character composition to read, write, and appreciate this system used across mainland China, Taiwan, and Chinese-speaking communities worldwide.
