Capacitor
Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Environmental)
In electronics, a capacitor is a passive component that stores electrical energy in an electric field between two conductive plates, used for filtering, smoothing power supplies, and timing circuits. Engineers and hobbyists working with circuit design rely on capacitors as fundamental building blocks alongside resistors and inductors. (Capacitor is also the name of an open-source framework by Ionic for building native mobile apps using web technologies.)
