Burmese Language

Languages

Burmese (Myanmar language) is the official language of Myanmar (Burma), spoken by over 30 million people as a first language and used as a lingua franca across the country's many ethnic groups. It is written in a distinctive circular script derived from the Mon script and is tonal, with grammar that relies heavily on particles rather than word order to convey meaning. People study it for business, diplomacy, humanitarian work, or connection to Burmese heritage.
