Apitherapy

Healthcare and Medical

Apitherapy is the practice of using products from honeybees -- including bee venom, honey, propolis, and royal jelly -- for purported therapeutic or medicinal purposes, most notably bee venom therapy for conditions like arthritis. It is considered a form of alternative medicine and is practiced by some beekeepers and complementary-health practitioners, though its efficacy is not well supported by mainstream clinical evidence. Practitioners are drawn to it through interests in beekeeping, natural remedies, and folk medicine traditions.
