What this role is
Lead Anthropic's new team detecting and disrupting AI misuse for influence operations and state surveillance, building detection systems while managing investigators and handling complex technical investigations yourself. This ground-floor leadership role combines strategic oversight of a high-impact mission area with hands-on involvement in threat analysis and external stakeholder engagement.

What they ask for
Required
- Deep expertise in influence operations, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or state-sponsored surveillance and commercial spyware
- Track record leading investigative or threat intelligence teams
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and threat detection
- Experience attributing campaigns to specific threat actors including state-sponsored operations
- Strong OSINT tradecraft for investigating online information ecosystems
- Hands-on experience with large language models and their weaponization for influence operations and surveillance
- Ability to present analytical work to technical and non-technical audiences including government stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience at major technology platforms on influence operations, platform integrity, or content authenticity
- Background in intelligence analysis, information operations, or counter-disinformation from government or military
- Experience investigating commercial spyware or surveillance-as-a-service vendors
- Experience investigating Chinese, Russian, Iranian, or other state-sponsored campaigns
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Farsi, and/or Arabic with nuanced regional and geopolitical context
- Familiarity with social network analysis for mapping coordinated behavior
- Active Top Secret security clearance
