What this role is
Crusoe seeks a Principal Design Engineer to own the complete lifecycle engineering of their Spark modular data center product line, managing electrical, mechanical, thermal, and structural design from concept through manufacturing partnership and deployment. This role suits experienced engineers with deep expertise across power systems, structural analysis, and safety standards who can translate aggressive product roadmaps into manufacturable systems at scale.

What they ask for
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center design, modular infrastructure, or industrial power systems
- 10+ years managing external design engineering partners with direct accountability for budget and schedule
- Expertise in medium-voltage power distribution, structural analysis for containerized systems, heat transfer fundamentals, and load calculations
- Expert knowledge of electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E), arc flash hazard analysis, and UL/CE compliance
- Proficiency with CAD/BIM platforms, electrical design tools, and/or thermal simulation software
Nice to have
- Master's degree
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Familiarity with high-performance computing and large-scale AI workload physical layer requirements
- Experience with agency certification strategies for modular electrical equipment in multiple global jurisdictions
- Track record of scaling a physical product from prototype through high-volume production
