# Set up your profile

Photo, location, about section, social links, and portfolio links.

Your profile is your public page on Career App — it's what connections, employers, and search engines see (you control how much).

## The basics

1. Open [Edit profile](/profile/edit).
2. Upload a photo, set your **location** (start typing a city, or use the locate button to pick the nearest one), and write a short **About me**.
3. Add **social links** (LinkedIn, GitHub, and more) — they appear as icons under your photo.
4. Add **portfolio links** — personal site, portfolio, anything you want visible on your profile.

## Then build out your career

Add roles, education, skills, and hobbies from your [profile](/profile) — each section has its own add button. Or do it all at once by [importing your resume](/support/articles/import-your-resume).
