# How salary sharing works

Your number is never shown — only aggregates of five or more.

Salary transparency helps everyone negotiate — but only if contributing is safe.

## The rules

1. Your salary entries are **private**. They never appear on your profile, in search, or anywhere public.
2. Salary data only ever appears as **aggregates** — median and range for a role.
3. An aggregate is shown **only when at least five people** have contributed to that segment. Below five, it's suppressed entirely, so no one can reverse-engineer an individual's number.

The [salary page](/salary), and on job listings without a posted range (as market context for similar roles). Employers are separately nudged to post real ranges.

## Your controls

Add, edit, or remove your entries any time from your profile's salary section — it's password-gated behind your own login even on your own screen.
