Windows Forms (WinForms) is a graphical user interface (GUI) framework for building desktop applications on the .NET platform, originally released by Microsoft in 2002. It uses a drag-and-drop visual designer and event-driven programming model, and is used by developers to create business applications, internal tools, and utilities for Windows. Despite being succeeded by newer frameworks, it remains widely used for maintaining legacy enterprise software.
