Spring Data JPA is part of the larger Spring Data project and simplifies data-access code in Java applications that use JPA (Java Persistence API) for object-relational mapping. It lets developers define repository interfaces and have Spring automatically generate the CRUD and query implementations, cutting down on boilerplate DAO code. It's widely used with Hibernate as the underlying JPA provider in Spring Boot applications.
