# Spiral Model

The Spiral Model is a risk-driven software development process model, introduced by Barry Boehm in 1986, that combines iterative prototyping with elements of the waterfall model, cycling through phases of planning, risk analysis, engineering, and evaluation in repeated spirals. It is used by software engineers and project managers on large, complex, or high-risk projects where requirements may evolve and risks need continual reassessment. Each spiral iteration produces a more refined version of the system than the last.
