Skype for Business was a Microsoft enterprise communication platform that provided instant messaging, voice and video calling, and online meetings for businesses, evolving from the earlier Microsoft Lync product. Organizations used it for internal and external collaboration before Microsoft retired it in favor of Microsoft Teams, completing the transition in 2021.
