Self-publishing is the process by which authors independently produce and distribute their own books, without going through a traditional publishing house, using platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or IngramSpark. It gives writers full creative control and higher royalty rates, but requires them to handle editing, cover design, marketing, and distribution themselves.
