# Reason DAW

Reason is a digital audio workstation developed by Reason Studios (formerly Propellerhead Software) that emulates a virtual rack of synthesizers, samplers, and effects units, originally distinguishing itself with a hardware-inspired interface where users could 'flip' the rack to see cabling. Music producers, particularly in electronic and hip-hop genres, use it for composing, sequencing, and sound design. It now also functions as a plugin (Reason Rack Plugin) within other DAWs like Ableton Live or Logic Pro.
