React Props (short for 'properties') are the mechanism by which data is passed from a parent component to a child component in React, functioning similarly to function arguments and making components reusable and configurable. Props are read-only within the receiving component, enforcing a one-way data flow that makes applications easier to debug and reason about. Understanding props is fundamental for any developer building component-based UIs in React.
