A Pareto chart is a bar-and-line graph that combines bars representing individual factor frequencies in descending order with a cumulative percentage line, based on the 80/20 principle that a small number of causes drive most effects. Quality-improvement and process-engineering professionals use it to prioritize which problems or defects to address first.
