Java Swing is a GUI (graphical user interface) toolkit included in Java SE, used by developers to build desktop applications with windows, buttons, menus, and other visual components. It's part of the Java Foundation Classes (JFC) and offers a platform-independent, customizable look-and-feel compared to the older AWT toolkit. While largely superseded by JavaFX for modern applications, Swing is still maintained and used in many legacy enterprise desktop applications.
