# Gherkin (Scripting)

Gherkin is a plain-text, business-readable language used to write behavior-driven development (BDD) test scenarios in a Given-When-Then format. It is most commonly used with the Cucumber testing framework (and similar tools like SpecFlow or Behave) so that non-technical stakeholders, QA engineers, and developers can collaborate on defining application behavior before it's automated into executable tests.
