AWS Data Pipeline is a web service that helps automate the movement and transformation of data between AWS compute and storage services, as well as on-premises sources, on a scheduled basis. It lets users define data-driven workflows with dependencies, retry logic, and failure notifications. Data engineers historically used it for ETL tasks, though AWS now generally recommends newer services like AWS Glue for similar use cases.
